Rampur

Rampur, the birth place of Raja Virbhadra Singh, is situated 130 kms away from Shimla and just 40 kms from Sarahan. Built on the banks of river Sutlej, Rampur has got multitudes of nature’s retreats like Sharai koti temple, sarahan Bhimakali temple complex, Nirmand, Kullu Saran, etc to name a few.

Furthermore, it owns the renowned S.J.V.N.L. hydroelectric project in Jhakri. Rampur was once a major stopover for old trade routes that crossed Kinnaur, Tibet, Ladakh and China. In addition it was also a centre for trade among Kashmir, Bhutan, Kashgar and Yarkand. It now celebrates the biggest trade fair of the state in the month of November every year. This fair brings in crowd from every nook and corner of the state during the 3-4 days of the fair.
